TEMPO Background
Since October 1997, the TEMPO program has been in operation with initial funding by the State of California Office of Traffic Safety. Partners included Riverside County EMS, Public Defenders Office, District Attorneys Offices, Coroners Office, Riverside County Regional Medical Center, Riverside County Juvenile Courts, Juvenile Probation Department and MADD.
TEMPO is a fee for service program.

TEMPO
Teen Education Mentoring Program Option is an impactful, early intervention, hands-on, educational program geared for at- risk teens ages 13-19 years of age. Teens participate in 20-hours/ 9 components that expose them to the legal, financial, emotional and social consequences of making negative choices as it relates to drug and alcohol use/abuse. With strong emphasis on how their actions affect their families, communities and themselves.

AWARE
Advanced Warning and Alert Re-Direction Education Program is geared for youth ages 10-17 years of age with the focus on educating both youth and parent to the consequences for their actions to break the law. Topics covered shoplifting, vandalism, graffiti, assault and battery, being incarcerated etc.. This program requires mandatory participation of both parent and youth to increase knowledge of the next consequence if the youth continues on the path of breaking the law. Bringing parent and youth back together!

VAP
Victim Awareness Program is geared for youth 10-18 years of age. The programs focus is on educating the youth in regards to the legal, emotional and financial consequences breaking the law has had on the victims, families and the entire community. The program encourages building empathy and accountability for the offender’s actions and simulating walking in the victim’s shoes.

HAMM
Hospital and Morgue Mentoring Program is for adults ages 20 and up. The programs focus is on educating adults to the consequences of driving under the influence. The program brings the realities up close by allowing the adults to witness and listen of first hand accounts.
