What is HELPline?
HELPline is a free, confidential Crisis/Suicide Intervention service.
The line is open 24-hours a day, seven days a week. The (951) 686-HELP number also serves as an information and referral number that operates weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Who answers the HELPline Phones?
Counselors who have successfully completed 55 hours of crisis/suicide training answer the HELPline phones 24-hours a day. Bilingual counselors are available.

How does HELPline work?
When you dial (951) 686-HELP you are put in touch with someone who cares, who will listen and support you in your time of crisis. Together you explore alternatives to help stabilize your situation. It is important to remember that "you are not alone" when a crisis occurs.

Do I have to give my name?
You may remain anonymous when you call HELPline. All conversations are confidential.

Who uses HELPline?
People use HELPline when they are feeling overwhelmed by their situations and perhaps considering suicide. A suicidal person sees everything in black and white, and does not consider other alternatives. People also call when they are depressed, abusing drugs and/or alcohol, having family-related problems, and for any other kind of crisis.

What other services does the HELPline Provide?
The HELPline also serves as a local information and referral number. One phone call gives you information on the services available to meet health care, legal services, family planning and much more.
